Information about Marius Lundgård
Background
Originally from Ås, Norway, I am a designer currently based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. My practice includes graphic design, typography, type design, drawing, writing, user interface design and programming.
I am involved in the relationship (or gap) between communication/technology,
and I believe art/design to be unique in bringing about a meaningful resolution between those fields/phenomena.
An autonomous approach to design
is my ideal, and I use drawing and anno-
tation methodologically in order to develop strong form and systems, which unite with its messages.
My practice transcends traditional graphic design, in the sense that I also produce free drawing and text on
one hand – a means of reacting to my environment – and programming and interactive applications on the other.
In July 2010 I graduated from the
graphic design department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (GRA) in Amsterdam.
My graduation project was nominated for the GRA Awards 2010.
Previously I have worked with interactive design and programming at Apt in Oslo (NO) and at Odopod San Francisco (US), after graduating from Hyper Island in Karlskrona (SE) in 2006.
